Odenwald products can continue to be consumed without hesitation. Quality and safety are our top priorities.

In its current issue (08/2020), the magazine “Ökotest” rated “Odenwald Apple Sauce” as “deficient.” Reasons are given for this which, from the perspective of Andros Deutschland GmbH, are misleading or incorrect: For example, minute residues of pesticides are criticized, all of which are below the very strict legal limit values.

Furthermore, two different product categories are compared in a misleading and undifferentiated manner in one test, and the entire apple sauce category is devalued across the board: While apple pulp with 100 percent fruit content naturally (!) requires no added sugar, sugar or syrup is always used in apple sauce products. This follows all traditions and is in line with the specifications of the German Food Code (Lebensmittelbuch).

Moreover, Ökotest classifies the claim “by law without preservatives” as advertising with self-evident facts. However, consumers are interested in this information, and it has long been legally clarified that this does not constitute advertising with self-evident facts.
All Odenwald products are safe and flawless foodstuffs that consumers can enjoy at any time with complete peace of mind. All products are tested for their perfect quality within the framework of legal regulations and beyond in the company’s own and commissioned, state-accredited testing laboratories. In addition, Odenwald products are subject to state food monitoring.
